Jeong-Eun Lee won an award for "Science Technology and Researcher (STaR; 대한민국 과학기술인상)" for her recent research about the conclusive evidence of the crystalline silicate formation and migration on an episodic accretion Young Stellar Object (YSO) named EC53, which was published in Nature (See Nature for the details on the research). "It is meaningful that the research could explain mechanisms of the formation and evolution of the materials for early Solar system. Moreover, it is encouraging that the Korean researchers have led this international research. I hope to continue to untangle the mysteries of how materials on stars, planets, and a life are formed and connected each other", said Jeong-Eun Lee.
STaR is one of the most honorable awards for the STEM researchers in Korea since 1997, awarded by the Ministry of Science and ICT (과학기술정보통신부).
