Star Formation

Seoul National University

Introduction of group

Welcome to the Star Formation Research Group at Seoul National University (SNU) in Korea. Our group focuses on observations and modeling across various wavelengths, especially radio to near-infrared (NIR) ranges, to investigate the kinematics and chemistry of star-forming regions, and to trace the chemical changes occurring during the process. Currently, we are working on traces of organic compounds within protoplanetary disks, absorption features of ice around protostars, both long-term and short-term variability of young stellar objects, etc. To achieve these, we make use of cutting-edge instruments such as the Atacama Large Millimeter / submillimeter Array (ALMA) and the James Webb Space Telescope (JWST). Please check the research & publication page for details.
